Vegetation Enhancement Matting
These are generally lighter grade blankets made from either Jute or Coir, which are installed over seed areas to protect the surface and the seed whilst the plants establish.
The matting breaks up the impact of rain, protects the soil from overland flow and maintains moisture to assist with germination and plant establishment.
Several grades and types are available, to suit any application.
Vegetation Suppression Matting
A thick dense blanket which prevents the germination of vegetation. Selected plant types are planted through the matting, which if specified correctly will last until the plants grow to become self mulching.
The matting may have a backing to prevent the light from penetrating to the soil, however this type of material must not restrict the infiltration of moisture.
