Silt Fencing
ESI sell and/or install only the highest standard silt fence fabrics. Silt fences are designed specifically to reduce soil run-off from or into protected areas. When correctly installed, they function in a similar manner to a sediment basin in which water is allowed to filter through the fabric, whilst silt and sediment particles settle on the ground. This restricts the loss of soil from a site while permitting water to drain away efficiently.
The fabrics are made of woven polypropylene yarns, which have been treated to resist degradation caused by exposure to sunlight.
Polypropylene is one of the most inert textile polymers available and is highly resistant to chemicals commonly encountered in soil. It is also resistant to mildew and bacteria.
