Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding is the hydraulic application of seed and fertiliser onto a prepared seedbed. Similar to hydromulching, hydroseeding does not contain any mulch.

This process should be followed with the application of a mulch to protect the soil from erosion and protect the seed from drying out.

Mulch can be applied as straw mulch or woodmulch.

The seed and fertiliser rates are similar to hydromulching.

Hydroseeding should only be used on relatively flat sites and where soil types are non dispersive.
