Plant Growth Regulators

Wanting to move to the next level. Use what the professionals use, Plant Growth Regulators to the rescue! Used on sports grounds and golf courses alike, PGR’s as they are also known are available for use in the domestic market.

In this weeks article, we will break down what Plant Growth Regulators do and the benefits of using them.

What are Plant Growth Regulators?

Plant Growth Regulators influence the development and growth of a plant.

PGR’s such as Primo Maxx are formulated as a microemulsion concentrate which enters the leaf and shoots before moving through the entire plant.

The active ingredient blocks the plant’s ability to produce growth from a hormone called Gibberellic Acid. This helps suppress the vertical growth of the plant whilst allowing photosynthesis and respiration to keep going.

Save water

Watering

Regular applications of PGR will allow you to have greener grass with less water.

Primo Maxx improves water efficiency. It encourages the pores of a plant to close for longer periods. This slows down the rate at which water is then lost.

Control growth with less mowing

Mower

With slowed down turf growth this also slows down the need to mow. Applying Primo Maxx to your lawn will hold back growth within 3 to 4 weeks of initial application.

Stand up to stress and heat

PGR application of Primo Maxx help increase the level of bioactive cytokinin’s in the plant. This improves the tolerance against heat and drought-induced stress. Allowing your lawn then to recover faster.
