New Year, New Turf

Turf Tips: New Year, New Turf!

For an easy New Year’s Resolution you can keep, why not finally get that new turf installed like you keep saying you should. The holidays are a great time to get new turf down with lots of family and friends are free to give you a hand. Now it’s New Year’s Resolution time, instead of making the same old promises why not try a new lawn resolution for 2020!

Turf Selection

The first step to buying turf is understanding what turf variety you need. Many people start at turf prices, overlooking the fact that replacing the old lawn could cost more than buying the right new lawn in the first place. When it comes to purchasing a new lawn the correct “Fit for Purpose” is perfect for any situation.

Our team can ensure you get the right lawn that’s fit for purpose for your yard, especially looking at the shade, water and wear requirements of your home. The perfect way to really lift your home for the new year. Maybe it’s time to update that couch that is struggling in the shade to Sir Walter DNA Certified. Maybe your water bills are high and it’s time to upgrade to a low water usage grass like TifTuf. Or maybe you want to have the best lawn on the street so it’s time to upgrade to the ultimate low-maintenance luxury of Sir Grange Zoysia!

Lawn Care

All good New Year’s resolutions have a pay-off, and a good lawn REALLY pays off when it comes to the value of your home. Turf Australia’s national survey of Real Estate Agents found that a good lawn adds 18% to the value of the home, so some time spent on your lawn is a worthy investment.

If you don’t need new turf another great New Year’s resolution is to take better care of your lawn. Our website has great seasonal advice for maintaining your lawn year round, putting a few tips into practice could really lift the value and the feel of your home. So make your New Year’s resolution to mow and the right height, water to the right depth or even just to remember to fertilise occasionally!

Summer storms also give a false sense of enough water. Many customers stop watering because of rain for a storm. Unfortunately, many summer storms come and go so fast that the lawn is unable to soak in sufficient water. Again, if you are not sure, water some more just to be safe, especially with a new establishing lawn make sure to water, water, water!
