January 2021 will always be special to Jimboomba Turf as the 3rd generation of the Davidson family joined the Business. A fact that is even more special is that it happens in the year of the 40th anniversary of father and son Ray & Lynn first buying the business after learning the ropes from the original founders.
The Davidson family have deep roots on the land in Queensland stretching back over 100 years, back to their sheep and cattle station in the Longreach region. A proud and loyal family, the family business has even had the same bank for over 100 years!
Family has always been important to the Davidson family, so it was no surprise he brought his children into the business with Cherie joining the business in 198o’s before eventually taking the reins of the business with Lynn. When Cherie bravely lost her battle with cancer in 2020, the timing became perfect for the next generation to step up. This has seen Renee Davidson bring her unique experience to the business; first growing up in the Jimboomba Turf business and then spending 15 years with the Queensland Police Service. Renee now steps in as the Admin Manager to help keep the Acacia Ridge office running smoothly, while her partner oversees the farm as the production manager. Renee’s broad experience mixed with the Davidson family manner is the perfect combination to continue the Jimboomba Turf’s “family first” ethos into the decades to come.
The year of the family
With such an important milestone this year, we have decided to make this the year of the family. We will of course celebrate our momentous milestones as a family, as well as celebrate our important staff both past and present which have made the Jimboomba Turf brand so beloved and trusted for many years. Their contributions often lasting decades are the foundation that everything we do is built on. Jimboomba Turf reaches far beyond the Davidson family, internally we always talk of the 100 mouths to feed, that rely on our continued success to put food on the table for their families.
Finally and most importantly, we will be celebrating our customers, who of course have raised their families on our lawns for as many generations as we have been in business. Without our loyal customers who often come back to turf their third and fourth home with our turf, there is no Jimboomba Turf. We are looking forward to engaging with our customers throughout the year and are especially looking forward to hearing the stories and milestones their Jimboomba Turf lawns have helped provide the perfect backdrop for.

To get your own Jimboomba Turf lawn call our team on (07) 3114 8281. You can also pop in and order in person at our sales office at 1/243 Bradman Street, Acacia Ridge. The office opens Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday 7am to 12pm. Our Acacia Ridge office also has a display area where you can kick off your shoes and try out our grasses before you buy.
